An ensemble adaptation of Dickens’ beloved yuletide story, A Christmas Carol was performed at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama winter 2023 season in the Richard Burton Theatre.

This unique retelling included a live band, a sign-language interpretation, and a choral ensemble.  The phantom puppets were the tortured souls that accompanied Marley’s ghost.

MAKING PROCESS

The three Giant Phantom Ghosts’ heads were sculpted with chicken wire and paper machéd. The hands were made from cardboard and paper. Rendered with acrylic paint. The custom aluminum backpacks were made to fit and additional padding was added for comfort.
